PURPOSE:To make setting work for a wiper arm ever so easy as well as to make it settable in accord with a body line, by making the wiper arm so as to be held up as ridden on a spherical body capable of rotating in an optional direction, in time of operation stoppage in a windshield wiper unit. CONSTITUTION:In time of operation stoppage in a windshield wiper unit, a rise- up mechanism operates whereby a wiper arm 5 is retracted back, and a wiper blade 1 is housed beneath the rear end of an engine hood 2. At this time, a plastic protector 9 rolled on a riding-up part first hits the front of a steel ball 14 of a stopper member 4c. And the wiper arm 5 is further retracted whereby it rides on the steel ball 14 while making this steel ball 14 rotate, whereby it kept up in the state that the protector 9 comes contact with a holding part 21. |
