In the production of night lights, one-hour candles or the like a small quantity of the candle composition (5) is first of all filled into the cup (1), essentially covering only its bottom (3), for temporary fixing of the wick (9) in the cup (1). Before this composition is completely set, the wick holder (8) with the wick (9) fastened thereon is then pressed by means of a wick tube (10) into the still-mouldable composition. Finally the cup is filled with the remaining candle composition. It is thereby possible in a particularly simple manner to fix the wick securely in the cup for further operations. <IMAGE>
