A chimney insert, in particular for heating boilers with low exhaust-gas temperatures, having a ventilation arranged between the outer casing brickwork and a mineral-wool layer which surrounds the inner ceramic shell. Said ventilating means is in the form of a double-walled, ceramic ventilating pipe which is arranged between the mineral-wool layer and the shaped brickwork, is firmly connected to the inner ceramic shell and comprises pipe portions with an inner pipe and an outer pipe which are connected to one another by axial supporting webs and can be placed against one another in such a manner that the essentially ring-shaped interspaces between inner and outer pipe form a ventilating duct which passes along the entire length of the ventilating pipe, in particular in accordance with Patent P 3419804.0, the inner pipe being provided with recesses permitting the discharge of the liquid from the mineral-wool layer into the ventilating duct.
