The machine is used to produce collections of samples. It operates in a semi-automatic fashion. An operator must in each case place the sample which is to be stuck onto the carrying web. Once the sample has been placed, the operator actuates the pedal (80) and in so doing initiates an automatic operating sequence. In the said sequence, a heated lower stamp (30) is raised up to the level of the table (20) and a pressing stamp (40) is lowered onto the sample and exerts pressure on the gluing point. After an adjustable period, the stamps return to their initial position and a feeding roller (52) pushes the carrying web (51) together with the adhesive network web (61), lying thereon, one step further on. <IMAGE>
