PURPOSE:To make it possible to equally set the upper and lower end blank parts of paper, by utilizing automatic paper feed function and the setting function of an automatic paper feed width. CONSTITUTION:When a new line is indicated by the pushing-down of a return key, a line interval value is added to the memory content of a printing line width memory region 44 to renew a printing line width and, thereafter, a carriage and a platen are driven to perform the new line. Succeedingly, in order to discriminate whether the line before the new line is a final printing line, the value of the printing line width memory region 44 is added to the value twice the value of a paper feed width memory region 43 and the obtained value is compared with the value of a paper width memory region. It is judged whether the width of paper is larger and, if the width of paper is not larger, it is judged that the printing of a final printing line was finished and a buzzer issues an alarm to an operator and a platen is rotated at an angle equal to or more than the rotary angle corresponding to a paper feed width to perform the discharge of the paper. |
