PURPOSE:To reform a fold of a bill by clamping force of transport belts and transport same by disposing transport belts for clamping both side portions of a bill at three places which divide the lateral width of the bill into four equal parts corresponding to the folds of the bill folded in four. CONSTITUTION:A bill 7 has folds 7a made by folding the bill in four. A transport belt 8 for transporting the bill 7 is disposed at three places which divide the width of the bill 7 opposite to the transport direction, that is, the lateral width into four equal parts corresponding to the folding trace portions having folds 7a. Another transport belt 9 is disposed opposite to the transport belt 8 to clamp the bill 7 between both transport belts 8, 9. Thus, the folds 7a of the bill 7 are pressed by both transport belts 8, 9 to reform the folds 7a, so that the bill 7 is made smooth and transported. |
