<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which improves corrosion resistance without deteriorating the magnetic characteristics of a recording layer by providing a plasma polymerized film via an intermediate layer on the recording layer consisting of an amorphous magnetic film. CONSTITUTION:The plasma polymerized film 4 is formed via the intermediate layer 3 on the recording layer 2 of the magnetic recording medium having the recording layer 2 consisting of the amorphous magnetic film formed on a substrate 1. The layer 3 is formed of, for example, Al2O3, BaO or the like and the preferable thickness thereof is 60-10,000Angstrom . The film 4 consists preferably of a fluoropolymer having, excellent hydrophobic property, for example, tetrafluoroethylene or hydrocarbon monomer, for example, ethylene, etc. The film 4 is formed of such monomers by the electric discharge of a capacitive or induction type. The film 4 is preferably formed in a 50- several thousands Angstrom range.</p> |
