PURPOSE:To perform emergency repairs or the like conveniently by providing preliminarily optical fibers whose number is larger than the number of optical fiber cores to be coupled. CONSTITUTION:A three-core optical connector shown in the figure is provided with another optical fiber core 11 as a stand-by core preliminarily, and the length of the core 11 is set to about 1m. This stand-by core 11 is reinforced with a contractible tube 5 similarly to the other optical fiber cores 1 connected by welding. If a core 1a of optical fiber cores 1 is disconnected, this core 1a is cut at points A and is connected to the stand-by core 11 at points B by welding to cope with troubles. |
