This strip consists of a narrow backing sheet (1) made of a semi-rigid material, for example PVC, bearing a plurality of nitrocellulose pads (2) each possessing a zone (3) impregnated with a reactant, facing a large-diameter hole (4) in the backing (1). This strip is formed by applying a nitrocellulose sheet to a backing sheet (1) and advancing it in contact with spaced heating members in order to burn spaced bands of the nitrocellulose and thereby to weld the edges of the remaining bands to the backing sheet. The reactants are applied longitudinally to the remaining bands, and the whole is impregnated with protein and cut in the wet state into strips transversely to the said remaining bands. <IMAGE>
