The fastening for furniture coverings or the like comprises a one-piece extruded plastics sectional strip of a basically I-shaaed section wherein at least one of the two pairs of T-arms (8, 9) of the I-section is extended on the outside by a flag-shaped addition (33) extending along the strip and preferably tapering towards its free end so that this end is mounted in a plane common with the free ends of the T-arms (9) facing the support (10) for the covering fabric (16). In this way the steel clips for securing the fastening need now only be passed through the free ends of the extension and into the backing support (10). |
