PURPOSE:To enable the measurement of amount of components of uranium and plutonium in an organic solvent, by detecting uranium and plutonium therein with a flow type coulometry after reversely extracted by a reverse extraction solution as a dilute nitric acid solution. CONSTITUTION:Reprocessing plants for used nuclear fuel are engaged in the extraction of uranium and plutonium in an organic solvent. The measurement of uranium and plutonium in the organic solvent with a flow type coulometry is not possible directly because of a low conductivity of the organic solvent. The organic solvent containing uranium and plutonium is mixed with a reverse extraction liquid as dilute nitric acid in a mixing column 16 and separated with a separator 17 to the organic solvent and the reverse extraction liquid having uranium and plutonium extracted, which is detected through the flow type coulometry 19. |
