PURPOSE:To simply measure the concentration of a substrate in a biological sample, by providing a space layer on the top of an electrode system and then, a porous body containing an oxidoreductase and an oxidation type pigment conjugating therewith and porous filter layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:A groove 7 is formed on an insulating substrate 6 and platinum is buried into the bottom of the groove 7 to form a measuring electrode 8, a counter electrode 9 and a reference electrode 10. A nylon non-woven cloth 11 and a polycarbonate film 14 are provided covering the groove 7. The nylon non-woven cloth 11 supports glucoseoxidase 12 as oxidoreductase and potassium ferricyanide 13 as oxidation type pigment conjugating therewith dry after impregnated therewith in dissolution. A porous film 14 made of polycarbonate is 1mum in the pore size. When blood is added to the sensor thus obtained, the liquid component alone of the blood is filtered with a porous membrane 14 and then, potassium ferrocyanide is formed on the non-woven cloth 11 according to the concentration of glucose in blood. The potassium ferrocyanide is measured with the electrode to determine the concentration of glucose. |
