PURPOSE:To improve the S/N ratio, by employing a compound mainly composed of boric acid and silicic acid as material of an acoustic impedance layer formed at a spherical lens section of an acoustic lens. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic transducer is made up of an acoustic lens 13, a transducer 14, an acoustic impedance matching layer 15, a sound field medium 16 and an body 17 to be inspected. The acoustic impedance matching layer 15 is a disc with the diameter of about 10cm obtained by working various compounds with varied composition ratio of boric acid and silicic acid and formed on the surface of a spherical lens section of the acoustic lens 13 by sputtering it in a mixed gas atmosphere of argon and oxygen. |
