PURPOSE:To prevent bad influences of ions or the like generated by corona discharge, by controlling the direction of an air current to control exhaust of air around a corona discharger as prescribed. CONSTITUTION:The direction of the air current near a corona discharger 22 is controlled in accordance with the rotating direction of an exhaust fan 45; and while the corona discharger 22 does not contribute to image formation, the direction of the air current is switched to the direction of an arrow E from the direction of an arrow F, and air near the discharger 22 is exhausted, and ions generated by corona discharge and ion products are removed well. Thus, bad influences of ions or the like are prevented, and the degradation of a photosensitive body 21, the degradation of images, etc. are prevented. |
