A radiation image storage panel comprising a support and at least one phosphor layer comprising a binder and a stimulable phosphor dispersed therein. The sharpness of image provided by the storage panel and the adhesion between the phosphor layer and the support are both remarkably improved by providing the surface of support with a great number of pits having a mean depth of at least 1 mu m, a maimum depth of more than 1 to 100 mu m, and a mean diameter at the opening of at least 1 mu m.
