PURPOSE:To detect quickly the P-segregated part of a metallic material by adhering a sheet impregnated with a soln. contg. copper ions and nitrate ions within a specific concn. range to the surface of the metallic material, stripping the sheet after suitable time and treating the same with a color forming reagent contg. ammonium molybdate. CONSTITUTION:A piece of the filter paper or the like impregnated with the aq. soln. prepd. by dissolving, for example, CuCl2 and NH4NO3 into distilled water so as to contain 0.00005-0.2mol/l Cu<2+> and 0.0001-1.0mol/l NO3<-> is adhered to the surface of the metallic material such as steel material which is cleaned by polishing the surface with emery paper of the filter paper or the like is adhered to the surface coated with said aq. soln. and after about 10min, the filter paper or the like is stripped from the surface and the reagent contg. ammonium molybdate is brought into reaction with the test piece. The color forming pattern there of is then observed. The easy, quick and exact detection of the distributing condition of the P in the metallic materials is thus made possible. The preservation of the test piece after the detection is possible and the dried test piece impregnated with the reagent prior to the test is preservable. Such test piece is reusable by moistening in the stage of use. |
