PURPOSE:To intercept friction heat generated during braking of a vehicle and prevent the temperature-rise in working liquid by making a part, which is adjacent to the disc in a bridge section having disc facing sections in series, of ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A caliper body 1 comprises of three divided parts, namely a working part 5 having a cylinder 4 to receive a piston 3 hydro-tightly and movably on one side of a disc 2, a reworking section 6 mounted on the other side of the disc 2, and bridge section 7 serially provided with the working section 5 and reworking section 6. The bridge section 7 is made of ceramics and inserted between the working section 5 and reworking section 6, and firmly connected with them by means of connecting bolts 10. Pad packing plates 13 and friction pads 14 are arranged on both sides of the disc 2. Working liquid in a hydrostatic chamber between the piston 3 and cylinder 4 presses the friction pads 14 against both sides of the disc 2 to make braking action. |
