PURPOSE:To manufacture a slide fastener whose fitting strength is reinforced and wherein a desired color can be grought out clearly, by fitting a fastener element to a fastener tape after the element is heated near to the softening point. CONSTITUTION:Prior to fitting of a molded fastener element of synthetic resin to a fastener tape by a method of sewing on or weaving in, the fastener element is heated to a temperature which is lower than the molding temperature thereof and near to the softening point thereof, and the fastener element thus softened is fitted thereafter to the fastener tape with the tensile force of tightening threads, whereby a slide fastener is prepared. As the synthetic resin cools down, the fastener element returns to the original state it takes when it is molded, and thus the fitting strength of the fastener element to the fastener tape is increased. Therefore, it becomes unnecessary to expect the threads to be tightened by high- temperature dyeing. In addition, a piece-dyeing method with high temperature is applicable. |
