PURPOSE:To obtain color pictures having excellent reproductivity by a method in which a non-sublimable dye is used and its maximum absorption wavelength is moved to a great extent or its absorption wave-form is varied. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium containing a nonsublimable dye and a heat-meltable substance and a picture-receiving element with a picture-receiving layer containing a color tone regulator are laminated on a supporter. A heat energy corresponding to a picture information to be recorded is applied to them, whereupon part or all of the nonsublimable dye and the heat- meltable substance are transferred. In this case, maximum absorption wavelength is moved to color tone-regulating zone of yellow, Magenta or cyanine, and/or the absorption wave-form is varied to obtain transferred color pictures. |
