PURPOSE:To obtain a caliper piston having good heat resistance and stable sliding characteristic by molding the caliper piston for a car disk brake with a composition made by arranging specific wt% of an inorganic filler material in resol- series phenol resin. CONSTITUTION:Resol-series phenol resin used for molding a caliper piston 5 can be either a liquid type or a powder type, and since it is somewhat inferior in molding shrinkage factor, luster, and mechanical strength, a little quantity of novolak-series filler material is added to it. It is important to add 100-250wt% of the filler material in relation to phenol resin. To further stably improve the function of the caliper piston, 30-150wt% of a fiber-like reinforcing material as the filler material and 3-40wt% of a solid lubricant in relation to phenol resin respectively are contained. Actually, phosphorous-like graphite can reduce friction coefficient and sliding resistance and is most excellent, therefore, 3-40wt% of it is added. |
