The invention relates to seals for universal joints. It relates to a seal 50 which comprises a first set of lips 54, 56, 62 placed in contact with a journal 32 and a shoulder 30 of the spider, and a second set of lips 58, 60, 64 placed in contact with a cylindrical part of the casing 20 and with a shoulder of the latter. The lips form narrow sealing zones, allowing lubricant to leave and preventing water and impurities from entering. Application to universal joints of mechanical transmissions. <IMAGE>
