The present invention concerns a device for putting into place, on the frame of a chair, a flexible material, in a few seconds and without tools. Its retention on the frame 3 does not require any stitching, any rivetting or any dowelling etc.. It also allows an instantaneous adjustment of the depth of the seat. It consists of a tube 1 which is parallel to the frame of the seat and the material of the seat 7 is wedged (pinched) between the two tubes. It is a SELF-RETAINING device. The thick transparent PVC is a novel application for the seat of a chair. <IMAGE>
