PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display which obviates color mixing according to visual angles by forming the 1st metallic wirings within the display part of one transparent substrate and the 2nd metallic wirings to part thereon then providing color filters between the 1st wirings and connecting transparent electrodes via a transparent insulating layer to the surface of the 2nd wirings. CONSTITUTION:A metal such as Ni is deposited by evaporation on the transparent substrate 21 to form patterned electrodes and further the 1st wirings 61 are formed thereon at about 2mu by electroless plating. A photoresist pattern is then provided to form the 2nd metallic wirings 62 to part on the wirings 61 and thereafter the resist is removed to form the color filters 23 of red R, green G and blue B into a mosaic or other shapes between the wirings 61. A protective film 63 consisting of a transparent and insulating polyimide resin or SiO2, SiN, etc. is formed over the entire surface on the substrate 21 and thereafter the surface of the wirings 62 is exposed by a photolithography method to provide the transparent conductive layer which is etched to connect the transparent electrodes 31 to the wirings 62, thereby forming the substrate. A liquid crystal is sealed between such substrate and an ordinary counter substrate. The disconnection, etc. of the wirings 61, 62 are thus obviated. Since there are electrodes 31 on the filters 23, the driving voltage is low. The display device which obviates color mixing even when viewed from the direction diagonal thereto is obtd. |
