PURPOSE:To enable inexpensive and accurate ribbon feed, by performing ribbon feed by prohibiting the cooperation of an ink ribbon driving mechanism by a cooperation prohibitting means when a printing hammer is excited for the sake of printing and exciting the printing hammer for an exciting time shorter than the exciting time for printing by an exciting means. CONSTITUTION:At first, when a hammer is driven, a hammer driving and exciting signal (a) and a ribbon feed prohibiting signal (b) are sent out from a hammer control circuit 21 and an attraction plate 18 is attracted to an electromagnet 21 to disengage a ratchet pawl 17 from a ratchet wheel 20 while a hammer 19 is projected to a printing possible position by the attraction of an armature 13 by an electromagnet 16 to perform printing. Of course, no ink ribbon is fed. When the ribbon is fed, a ribbon feed signal (c) is sent out from a ribbon feed control circuit 23 and short-time excitation not allowing the hammer 19 to reach the printing possible position is repeated plural times so as to obtain a predetermined ribbon feed amount to perform ribbon feed. |
