The connecting part (3) of a windscreen wiper blade holder and a rectangular section driving arm are joined by an intermediate adaptor (1) with a socket having a rectangular opening (15) to receive the end of the arm. At the other end of the adaptor is an open ended slot with a rounded inner end, holding the connecting pin on the blade holder. The axis (A) through this pin is at an angle (a) between 0 and 45 degrees to the axis (P) through the rectangular opening. The average longitudinal direction of the front part of the adaptor, which contains the open ended slot is approximately in the plane as the average longitudinal direction (D) of the rear part containing the rectangular opening.
