This safety binding has the advantage, as compared with conventional safety bindings, that, in deep snow, it prevents with one hundred percent reliability, in the event of the binding being released, the escape and/or loss of the skiis by catching them with twine or wire and, with a combination of the conventional and ancient Ariadne's thread and the red avalanche cord, guarantees that the skiis will be found again, only a few metres of twine and/or wire being needed now and then. The twine catching tension can be greatly reduced in that the thread is guided from the reel, situated above the toe of the boot, initially to the front point of the ski, via an eyelet, and only then to the heel of the boot, as a result of which a spontaneous "Telemark" executed by the unsecured ski distributes the momentum-destroying phase over this turning phase and the catching time is thus greatly increased. Previously stoppered bindings can easily be converted. |
