The object of the invention is to create an operating device for hydromechanically controlled aerial-ropeway cars, which operating device produces the operating position of the directional control valve for locking the aerial-ropeway car while at the same time unlocking the load hook through minimum release forces and secures the final operating positions. This is achieved by a pre-loaded spring at the valve operating lever being loaded when the pull rope with crane hook is pulled in and by the stored energy only being released for operating the directional control valve. It is thereby possible to use more cost-effective valve constructions and apply different release principles. <IMAGE>
