Slurries are separated in device with basket shaped sieve. This is of circular shape with a solids take off from its lowest point. This is surrounded by a housing which serves for liquor collection and ha sa run off branch for this. Above is mounted the slurry inlet box in the form of a cyclone with tangential entry and curved all. This is mounted flush with the sieve wall and the slurry moves straight into it. The outher housing is made vacuum tight to aide the separation process. The inlet box is mounted to a flange mounted on the top of the liquor outlet housing. Used for sepg. slurries e.g. in mining operations. The device is suitable for all applications without the need to rotating separators such as centrifuges.
