PURPOSE:To prevent any early deterioration of the capacity of a sealed storage battery which might be caused by decrease in the amount of water in the liquid electrolyte by using a container and a lid each consisting of an inner acid-proof alkali-proof synthetic resin film, an intermediate metallic film which prevents the permeation of steam and oxygen and an outer thermocontractile synthetic resin film. CONSTITUTION:A container 1 consists of an inner synthetic resin film 2 with excellent structural strength and chemical resistance, an intermediate metallic film 3 and an outer thermocontractile synthetic resin film 4. The resin film 2 is formed, for example, by subjecting acrylonitrile, butadiene or a styrene copolymer to injection molding. The metallic film 3 is composed of aluminum formed by vacuum vapordeposition or nonelectrolytic plating and prevents the permeation of steam and oxygen. The synthetic resin film 4 consists of a sheet containing a vinylidene chloride resin. A lid 5 also consists of an inner synthetic resin film 2, a metallic film 3 and a thermocontractile synthetic resin film 4. |
