The invention relates to a device for controlling the adjustment movement of a plurality of adjacently arranged type-carrying wheels, preferably in ticket stamping machines, having an adjustment motor whose rotary movement is transmitted to a control roller, bearing against whose circumference there is a number of control levers corresponding to the number of type-carrying wheels, which control levers are provided at one end in each case with a spring-loaded transporting lever which drives an associated type-carrying wheel via a transporting wheel and whose other end can be either retained by a holding magnet or released for the stepwise progression of the associated type-carrying wheel, progression of the transporting wheel and thus of the type-carrying wheel taking place via the transporting lever due to the control lever dropping into a recess in the control roller and subsequently being returned into the basic position. In order to be able to use commercially available magnets despite the restricted constructional width, a common holding magnet is assigned in each case to a plurality of adjacently arranged control levers, the holding magnets are mounted jointly around the central spacing between the control levers, actuated by one holding magnet, so as to be laterally displaceable, and the segment-shaped recesses for the control levers actuated by a common holding magnet are constructed in the control roller so as to be mutually offset in the circumferential direction.
