Motor-driven hand spray device for processing plastics compositions in which the rigid piston rod is replaced by at least one multi-part telescopic threaded spindle. The first threaded sleeve with the largest diameter is disposed in the drive housing and is axially locked there and driven reversibly. When the piston is in the withdrawn position all threaded spindle parts are nested into one another within the driven threaded sleeve. The piston or the last threaded spindle part fastened on the piston is secured over the piston stroke against co-rotation.
