PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a catalyst and to reduce the cost of production of the atmospheric gas by providing a heat exchanger to a catalytic combustor to cool a catalytic body, connecting the outlet of a posttreatment device to the inlet of the heat exchanger, and connecting the outlet of the heat exchanger to an atmosphere furnace. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas M of waste combustion gas and combustion improv ing fuel F is supplied to a catalytic combustor 3, passed through catalytic bodies 5 and 6, and supplied to a posttreatment device 10 as a low-oxygen gas. The gas is cooled in the posttreatment device 10, and atmospheric gas A freed of moisture, etc. is padded in whole or in part through a heat exchanger 8 through a cooled gas pipeline 12 to cool a gas B passing through the inside of the catalytic combustor 3 and the catalytic bodies 5 and 6. The deactivation of the catalyst is thus prevented. The atmospheric gas A after passing through the heat exchanger 8 is heated by the heat exchange with the gas B, and supplied into an atmosphere furnace 1 through an atmospheric gas supply pipe 14. Accordingly, the heating fuel in the atmosphere furnace 1 can be reduced. |
