The invention relates to a non-destructive, dimensional control process and apparatus with respect to a hollow member. The apparatus comprises means making it possible to hold and position the member, a source which can be introduced into the member so as to emit gamma radiation in the direction of the inner surface of the wall of said member. A detector can be positioned outside the member, so as to detect the gamma radiation traversing the wall of said member. In addition, means are provided making it possible to effect a relative displacement between the assembly, constituted by the source and the detector, and the member in such a way that the wall profile of the latter is followed. |
