<p>Prodn. of emulsions from mixts. of oil and water is effected by using dextrin as emulsifier. The oil-water mixt. pref. contains 50% (esp. =30%) water and >50% (esp. >=70%) oil. The dextrin concn. is pref. 2-15 pts. wt. per 1000 pts. wt. of the mixt. The emulsions can be produced in simple blenders or colloid mills. Dextrin forms o/w emulsions (esp. with fuel oil) which remain stable for long periods (e.g. >=15 months) and cause less pollutant emission than the neat oil when burned.</p> |
