PURPOSE:To properly control the fuel injection rate over a wide range according to the operation condition by installing a piston in free connection/disconnection at the top edge of the plunger of a fuel injector, thus allowing the actual pressurizing sectional-area of the plunger to be varied. CONSTITUTION:As for a distribution type fuel injection pump, a plunger 2 is inserted rotatably and in slidable ways in the axial direction into a housing 1, and a pump pressurizing chamber 7 is formed onto the top edge surface side of the plunger 2. A controller 30 is installed at the position of the pressurizing chamber 7, and the cylinder 34 of the controller 30 is fixed through screwing onto the housing 1 of a body 31. A piston 35 is fitted onto the cylinder 34, and a piston 35 is urged by a spring 71 and attached onto the connection part 70 at the top edge of the plunger 2. An oil-sealed chamber 38 divided by the piston 35 is formed to communicate to a low-pressure fuel part 10 through a spherical valve 101 opening and closing driven by an electrical driving means 200. Said driving means 200 is controlled according to the operation state. |
