The invention relates to a pincer-like device for extracting valve stem seals, with two pincer legs which can be attached to the valve stem seal and two gripping legs which are arranged on the pincer legs and are pivotable about a common bearing pin. In order to be able to hold the pincer legs in the clamping position with a small manual force and actuate the device with a low expenditure of force for extracting the valve stem seals, the front end of a rod provided with an external thread on a front sectional length is arranged on the bearing pin, a clamping nut is arranged on the external thread of the rod, by the turning and thus axial displacement of which on the rod the gripping legs can be actuated, and a weight is mounted on the rear sectional length of the rod in such a way as to be longitudinally displaceable between two stops.
