<p>The mechanism is suitable for use with arc welding regulators or for any circuit to be opened or closed without arcing. The mechanism consists of a structure (3) to which is fixed, by bolts and screws a jaw with elastic branches (1, 2). Each branch of the jaw is connected to the circuit (4, 5) to be opened and closed. A mobile frame (6), made of synthetic resin or other dielectric material, is connected to the frame via a pivot (7), and stabilised by a leaf spring (13). A strip of mean (12) connects the mobile frame of the jaws. When the mobile frame is manually rotated away from the jaws, the breaking of current in the circuit is instantaneous removing contact from both branches of the jaws simultaneously, thus avoiding the possibility of arcing.</p> |
