In known discharge shafts for fine-grained tacky materials, in particular for the discharge of thixotropic slurries from a container or from a solid-liquid separating device, arching and blockages or the cross-section of the discharge shaft can very readily occur. It is relatively difficult to eliminate blockages of the discharge shaft of this kind and a relatively high labour, time and cost outlay is involved. According to the invention, however, this is avoided in that the discharge shaft (1) has a cross-section which in a downward direction is constant or increasing in size. <IMAGE>
