发明名称 METHOD OF COOLING STORAGE BATTERY
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent the life of a storage battery from becoming short by reducing the pressure applied to the electrode group due to the expansion of the container caused by the temperature increase of the battery by causing a coolant to flow through the spaces of each partition wall which extend from the top to the bottom of the container. CONSTITUTION:Each of the thick partition walls 6 of a storage battery has spaces 7 extending from the top of the container 1 to its bottom. The top and the bottom of the container are provided with parts 9 each of which has one opening end 8 and the inner sides of which are continuous with the spaces 7 to form a path for air or water which is made to flow in the direction indicated by the arrow thereby cooling the storage battery. Owing to the above structure, it is possible to suppress the increase in the temperature of a large-capacity storage battery having a monoblock container which is caused either when the battery is used in a place with high atmospheric temperature or when the battery is charged or discharged with a high current level. Accordingly, the pressure applied to the electrode group due to the expansion of the container is reduced, thereby preventing the life of the battery from becoming short.</p>
