PURPOSE:To manufacture wire coils of good quality by putting wires wound on respective bobbins in slide contact using a slide plate, and thereby eliminating risk of strain generation in the wires paid off from slitter. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of bobbins 14 are borne by a common guide shaft 12, and a slide plate 16 of teflon etc. having a low coefficient of friction is provided between each adjoining pair of bobbins 14. The wires 1 wound on these bobbins 14 are put in slide contact through the action of said slide plates 6, to eliminate necessity for widening the wire 1 paid off from the slitter, so that a good-quality wire coil 2 without wire crab strain can be accomplished. Further, each bobbin 14 is supported, being equipped with a gap 18 so as to be capable of displacing eccentrically between the outside cylindrical surface of guide shaft 12 and the bore of each bobbin 14 in accordance with the curretn diameter of the wire coil.
