PURPOSE:To prevent damage to the surface of a photosensitive body by providing a separation claw so that it moves freely to contact and leave the photosensitive body, and providing a cleaning member which scrapes away toner sticking on the separation claw in the backward movement of the separation claw nearly the separation claw. CONSTITUTION:The tip side of the separation claw 6 is pointed almost triangularly and the base side is fixed to a shaft lever 7. Both end sides of the shaft lever 7 are run through lon-sized holes 8a bored in machine frames 8 and allowed to move back and forth in the tangential direction of the photosensitive body 1 along the long-sized holes 8a, and a driving means 9 such as a solenoid is connected to part of the shaft lever 7 to move back and forth the separation claw 6 through the shaft lever 7. Further, a cleaning member which contacts the top surface of the separation claw 6 is provided above the separation claw 6. This cleaning member 10 uses rolled felt impregnated with a lubricant such as petroleum lubricating oil. Consequently, toner sticking at the top the separation claw is scraped off to prevent the photosensitive drum from damaging. |
