The object of the invention is to design a hydrostatic guide for a work slide in such a way that a constant and parallel bearing gap between work slide and table bed is ensured in accordance with the loads on the work slide with little complexity in terms of control. According to the invention, the object is achieved in that an even number of supporting pockets (7) with a control unit (9) are allocated to the work-mounting surface (3) of a work slide (1), and in that auxiliary supporting pockets (8) with a constant pressure-flow generator (16) are allocated to the technological auxiliary device (5).
