<p>PURPOSE:To simplify constitution and move tape with high speed response by stopping the high frequency vibrations only in the period corresponding to the feed rate of the tape during the revolution and high frequency vibration period of a capstan. CONSTITUTION:When a revolving shaft 17, i.e., a capstan 2, is revolved where a converter 5 is being vibrated by applying high frequency signals between terminals 23a, 23b, then the friction coefficient between the capstan 2 and tape decreases owing to the vibrations of the converter 5 and therefore the tape is not moved by the revolution of the capstan 2. If in such a state the supply of the high frequency signals to the terminals 23a, 23b is cut off, the coefficient of frication between the capstan 2 and tape increases and therefore the tape is moved. Hence, if the voltage to be applied between the terminals 23a, 23b, the material of the outside peripheral surface of the capotan 2, etc, are suitably selected, the running of the tape may be stopped or started with high speed response only by the ON and OFF of the high freqqency signals to the terminals 23a, 23b.</p> |
