DISPENSER FOR SEMI-LIQUID FOODS CUCH AS CHILI A dispenser for viscous liquid or semi-liquid materials comprising a container for the material and an upright hollow stationary cylinder within the container operatively closed at its bottom end, an intake opening in the side of the cylinder disposed upwardly from but adjacent said bottom end and an elevated discharge opening in the side of the cylinder disposed upwardly from said intake opening, a sleeve slideably mounted within the cylinder having a lowered position and a raised position and constructed in said lowered position to close off the intake opening and open up the elevated discharge opening and in said raised position to open said intake opening and to close off said elevated discharge opening, a vertically reciprocatable piston and rod assembly including a piston disposed within the cylinder shiftable between lowered and raised positions disposed above said elevated discharge opening, and friction means interposed between the assembly and sleeve for producing movement of the sleeve between its lowered and raised positions with shifting of the piston between lowered and raised positions.
