PURPOSE:A cationic crosslinked resin having specified structural units and useful as a chelating resin of a high exchange capacity, obtained by crosslinking a polyvinylamine. CONSTITUTION:A cationic crosslinked resin containing 10-99.5mol% structural units of formula I and 90-0.5mol% structural units of formula II, or III. In formula I, R is H or methyl. In formula II, R' is formula IV (wherein l is 1-13) or formula V (wherein R'' is H, a halogen, methyl or ethyl, and m is 1-5) or formula VI (wherein n is 1-10). In formula III, R''' is formula VII (wherein o is 0-11), formula VIII (wherein R'''' is H, halogen atom, methyl or ethyl and p is 0-3). Said resin is obtained by crosslinking a polyvinylamine. An example of said polyamine is one prepared by reacting polyvinyl(propenyl)phthalimide with hydrazine hydrate to obtain a phthalhydrazide salt and hydrolyzing this salt. |
