PURPOSE:To make a toner carrier small-sized by forming the surface of the toner carrier with a member whose elasticity modulus is higher than a prescribed value and providing a roll which presses this surface with a prescribed uniform pressure and supplying and recovering a toner. CONSTITUTION:A toner 10 is carried by a carrier 1 formed with a member whose elasticity modulus is >=7.0X10<5>kg/cm<2>, and the carrier 1 is rotated in the direction of an arrow 1a to develop an electrostatic latent image 6 on a latent image carrier roll 5. A roll surface 1b of the carrier 1 is always pressed with a certain pressure by a uniforming roll 2. A blade 4b controls the toner thickness uniformly in the axial direction to supply the toner to a photosensitive drum 1. A blade 4a prevents the toner 10 from being scattered to the external. The toner 10 is charged by the friction between the uniforming roll 2 and the carrier roll 1, and an electric charge is given to the toner 10, and the toner goes to a developing area. The uniforming roll 2 recovers the excess toner on the carrier 1 and supplies the toner by the used quantity. Thus, the flexure of the carrier 1 is reduced to perform correct development. |
