The invention concerns a device for a life jacket (1) comprising a cloth casing filled with essentially cellular plastic with closed cells. The jacket (1) consists of a back piece (2) and two front pieces (3, 4), which are attachable to the wearer's torso by a belt (5). At least six floats (7), which can move relative to each other, extend from the belt (6). Two of these are an extension of the back piece (2) and two of the others extend from that part of the belt (5) which is under the wearer's arms, whereby a wearer who is in the water takes up a vertical position because the floats (7) take up a diagonally pointing upward position forming a float-collar around the wearer.<IMAGE> |
