The invention concerns an apparatus for melting out beeswax from breeding frames (29) and for melting in new wax beds (31) in breeding frames. According to the invention, an oven (1) is used, consisting of an outer housing (10) and inside this, spaced from its walls, an inner housing (11), both with open lower ends (7 and 7'), and an infra-red radiation element (2) installed in the inner housing's (11) top (3'). The lower parts of the inner housing's side walls are fitted with brackets (17,18) to carry the breeding frames and a melting-in tool, or a frame (24) consisting of a base plate (25) with side supports and stop flanges (27,28) designed to rest on the said brackets (17,18). Underneath, a breeding frame (29) with wires (30) and a centrally positioned wax bed (31) is laid on the plate (25). The IR radiation component (2) is designed to be switched on for a limited period, to either melt out the beeswax cake completely or to soften a wax bed somewhat, so that the wires (30) on a breeding frame (20) can drop down into the wax bed and be fixed in it during the cake's subsequent hardening.<IMAGE> |
