PURPOSE:To remarkably enhance graininess by forming at least one silver halide monodispersion emulsion layer on a support and one or more nonphotosensitive layers adjacent to this layer, contg. a diffusive development inhibitor or the like. CONSTITUTION:At least one silver halide monodispersion emulsion layer is formed on the support, and the nonphotosensitive layer formed at the position adjacent to this layer contains a diffusive DIR compd. capable of reacting with the oxidation product of a developing agent and releasing a diffusive development inhibitor or its precursor, thereby resulting in obtaining a silver halide color photographic sensitive material having superior graininess. Preferable DIR compd. is represented by the formula: A-(Y)m in which A is a coupler component, m is 1 or 2, and Y is a group combining with the coupling site of A and it is released upon reacting with the oxidation product of the color developing agent. |
