New 6-aryl-3 (2H) pyridazinone of the general formula (I) and its salts formed from bases are claimed. In (I) one of R1 or R2 is a OCH3 gp. and the other is a 2-5C alkoxy gp. or a 3-5C alkenyloxy gp. and X is O or S. - (I) is prepd. by a) the oxidation of 6-aryl-tetrahydro-pyridazinone of formula (II), in which R1 and R2 are defined as above or b) by cyclising a 4-phenyl-4-oxo crotonic acid deriv. with hydrazine. - Specifically claimed are 6-(3-methoxy-4-n-propoxyphenyl) -3(2H9pyridazinone and 6-(3-isobutoxy-4-methoxy-phenyl) -3(2H9pyridazinone.
